See Your Life As An Ant
Why you should see your life as an ant and how to connect to your deep source and live in the moment.

You are an ant
Most people in life follow a similar pattern. They find a job where they’re solicited in often stressful or quite urgent situations. They go around life stressing, tensing, and having problems, with cortisol rushing through their veins.
They often have conditioning that pushes them to act in specific ways, get caught up in problems, addictions, or simply bad habits, they often are conditioned to be quite like anyone else, not really thinking about the higher subjects of life but only thinking about maximizing pleasure in the moment or this and that at work or how a colleague at work was offensive, etc.
In other words, most people's lives are focused on tension, stress, problems, future problems, and conditioning. These are the vast majority of the negatives in people's lives. This is why, you should see your life just like if you were watching an ant. If you are like me, you find ants fascinating, and you sometimes even like to simply watch them.
Ants are very similar to humans in the way they live through life. They get up in the morning and they’ve got specific jobs. Yes, indeed, ants communicate and there is a veritable “ant society” with hierarchies and jobs.
Each ant is supposed to contribute to the tribe, to the kingdom. If you watch ants, each one has a job. Oftentimes, they will all go out and pick out leaves, corpses of dead insects, and all other small items to bring into their colonies so as to contribute to the ant economy in one way or another.
They build colonies, and they probably have built interiors and constructions. Not saying ants are as smart as us but really, for their small size, they’re not only very strong (can carry between 10 and 50 times their own body weight), but they’re also very intelligent.
And, each ant is caught up in their own problems. They even fight with one another, just like we humans are constantly having tensions between us and other people, fighting, arguing, and maybe even physically hurting another person, just like an ant would fight with another one.
In other words, ants are very similar to nowadays workers. Go out, get the job done, come back home, the boss is happy, go with family, sleep, and repeat.
And, even tho their life seems so occupied, busy, and important, just like if each one of these ants was contributing in one way or another to society, from your point of view, their life seems futile. The proof is, that people walk over ants all day long.
Their life is so futile and ridiculous, they spend their whole life providing for the colony and fighting each other and attacking predators and all that stuff, just for the sake of… getting stepped on? From their point of view, they put all these efforts into their work, they are hard worker, providing for the tribe, etc. But... they eventually all die and sometimes get stepped on.
Life passes by and they all die. They all die without even contemplating the beauty of life, but they die nose to the grindstone, working all day long.
And so, this ever-fresh realization should hit you in the face. With all the similarities that ants have with us, human beings, isn’t it also plausible that they share the unique trait of getting caught up in their work and problems?
We all have problems and we all get caught up in them, some people have way worse problems than others do, but generally, we all live in our heads all day long. Thinking, fantasizing, daydreaming, imagining, planning, etc.
We should have regular periods of fresh realization that we should, indeed, cut through the bullshit in our lives. We should sometimes cut through the problems and thoughts and all of this stuff, and simply stay with the present moment, simply enjoy life around us., and realize our deepest goals in life, our most important things, our purpose, etc.
We should try and realize what is bigger than us, perhaps for some a god, perhaps for others “the universe”, who knows. We should simply admire what is, and realize the deeper things in our lives.
Who are the most important people in our lives? Who do we truly want to keep in the future? What could you do every morning that would wake you up without even needing an alarm? What relationship do you want with your woman?
Asking yourself deep questions, contemplating life, having fresh realizations about life, god, death, and your purpose, all of this is of the utmost importance to constantly realign your life toward a direction that will make you happy.
If you simply accept your conditioning and if you stop thinking about the deepest parts of your life and your being, then you’re just living a shallow life. Days and nights pass by for years until you end up being on the verge of death, with tons of regrets.
The ant metaphor is ridiculous but it illustrates an important truth: we will all die. And, we should realize the deeper parts of our lives and be happy and grateful for them if they are positive for us, instead of always getting caught up in our problems, thoughts, and dreams.
List of activities to help you be present
Here is a list of activities that could help you in cutting through the bullshit of the day-to-day grind and enjoying the present moment, unobstructed by distractions:
Watching the sunset
Watching the sunset is a great activity for relaxing, and having realizations about life. It’s a major key activity to think about your life and what is bigger than it, as well as the components of it (your relationships, your purpose, etc). You might even find solutions to a few problems or realize their futility.
Walking in nature.
This one also is very powerful. Just like watching the sunset, it’s a great activity for relaxation and having realizations about life. It’s a key activity.
Journaling
Journaling is also one of the best activities for figuring out things about your life or what is bigger than life. Expressing your thoughts on paper can really help not only to cut through your own bullshit but also to express yourself fully without being scared of expressing yourself because you know you’ll be able to throw the paper away and carry on with your life.
Somehow, the thought that your thoughts are on paper is reassuring, it’s enabling you to open up way more than if you just spoke in your head.
Social relationships
Having fulfilling social relationships can also help you achieve realizations about life. Spending time with people you love is especially powerful, such as your closest friends, your children, your family, and your partner. It’s just a great way to have realizations about life and your purpose and god and death, etc.
Spending a relaxing day with your loved ones and/or working hard on meaningful projects
Also, working hard is great for fulfillment and realization. When you work hard on a meaningful task, not only are you proud of yourself and your work, but it can make realizations pop up such as your purpose or the importance of a certain relationship with someone, etc.
Using the paleo principle (80/20 principle)
The paleo principle is a principle that says that 20% of activities give you 80% of the results. This principle can be used positively to find out the best activities you can do in your life to give you 80% of the results in your growth, happiness, and wisdom.
Most importantly, this principle can help you have realizations about life and it can get you out of your head and into the present moment. You can even use this principle in the following manner: you should spend 80% of your time pushing yourself and working hard, and 20% of your time relaxing and contemplating life, etc.
Also, remember to meditate and learn the art of becoming more present in the moment. If you learn to live in the breath, to live in the present moment, you will undoubtedly lead a better life. Not overthinking and simply living in the moment is key.
Conclusion
See your life as an ant. Realize that YOU ARE AN ANT. Try to stabilize your life by relaxing and having moments of gratefulness and realization, outside of the day-to-day pressure and tension and stress of jobs, studies, projects, businesses, problems, etc.
