The Power Of Simplicity
Discover the power of simplicity and why you should sometimes focus on the simple tasks and things in life.

Introduction
Simplicity sometimes is the best choice. You see, we humans often get our attention in every corner of the room. Let’s take the subject of business. Most of us, when we start a business, focus on a thousand different things, and often a thousand different HYPOTHETHICAL things.
Instead of focusing on just doing the work which is concrete and actionable, the 20% of the workpiece that gives us 80% of the results, we focus on 80% of the activities that give us 20% of the results. We focus on ads, publicities, the logo, the color of the logo, and launching social media accounts, instead of focusing on what truly matters and what gives us the most bang for our buck: THE WORK.
This applies in every domain in life, we often overcomplicate our lives with thousands of activities, techniques, or tricks to reach a specific goal, whilst, in reality, there is one "simple" way to reach it. "Simple" in the fact that it’s only one or two activities for example, but it stays difficult in the making, that’s why nobody does it.
The idea of “just doing the work” is very simplistic, yet it’s extremely hard, way harder than spreading your attention left and right, jumping from business model to business model, and not going anywhere truly useful or rewarding.
This whole 20% of activities give us 80% of the results principle is named the Paleo principle. The paleo principle is a very famous principle about the nature of all things in life. For example, take the example of cutting a tree.
So, you grab your axe and you swing it to the trunk, hitting it once at a specific spot. If you use the 80% of activities that give you 20% of the results mindset like a lot of people do in life, you start hitting everywhere. Now sure, after a lot of time hitting everywhere, you’re going to be able to cut the tree.
But wouldn’t it be 10000x faster if you just used the Paleo principle idea of 20% of the activities to get 80% of the results? Instead of spreading your attention, you simply hit the right spot once, and keep hitting and repeating the same movement at the same spot over and over again.
The same goes for most things in life. Instead of searching for complex, optimized techniques, focus on the simple tasks first. Once the simple tasks are nailed, move on to the more “optimized” tasks. If your goal is to better your health for example, instead of focusing on taking a specific supplement, first focus on exercising, eating clean, and sleeping well. Once you have the basics, supplement with Vitamin D or whatever. By the way, if you want to check out an article on supplements, check this one here.
How to use simplicity
Let’s see how you could use simplicity in different walks of life.
So, simplicity in relationships, including your intimate relationship, how does it work? Well, instead of spreading your attention on useless, superficial issues such as your body language or the way you move your eyebrows like all of these “social expert gurus”, start by simply being more authentic and therefore being more real and social with people.
Try to help people become better. Speak with them, engage in conversations, and learn to behave in different social relationships. With your partner, instead of trying to please him or her by finding the perfect activity to make your partner happy, at first establish love through your gaze, touch, and attention. Then, go on to please your partner with an activity he or she enjoys.
Once the principles of social relationships are nailed, then you can begin to focus on other things. Give honest and sincere appreciation like Dale Carnegie says in his book How To Win Friends And Influence People (click on the name to buy it on Amazon), or use your body language more efficiently to carry your ideas better.
One key thing I’ve learned is that to boost your social status, DO NOT BOTHER WITH BODY LANGUAGE. I used to watch these body language videos to seem smarter and more open and bla and bla in social events or relationships, but in reality, what made me smarter and more open was simply to… work on myself and be authentic.
By being myself and working my ass off and serving the world and giving my fullest gifts and being more masculine and all of this, it helped me ultimately become better at social relationships because all throughout this time I simply… spoke with people. Simplicity always wins.
Now take the example of meditation. Instead of bothering to do a weird yoga meditation thing, simply close your eyes and focus on your breath. Once this is acquired, move on to the more specific things.
With sports, it’s the same thing. Before trying to find the perfect optimized workout plan for muscle growth, start by simply going to the gym. Go to the gym and work hard. Be disciplined and train hard on a simple program with SIMPLE EXERCISES.
Don’t bother with the overhead lateral bi-symmetrical incline bench extensions-raise, instead focus on doing the simple exercises that give the vast majority of the results. Don’t bother to find the perfect bicep exercise, at first simply grab a dumbbell and curl it up.
After that, if you want, go on and optimize your program. But if you don’t perfect the basics first, then it’s a shame. Simplicity, in this case, is better. Once simplicity is acquired and you get decent results, you can either stay with simplicity or add more to it in order to truly optimize your muscle growth for example.
For dieting, simplicity also works in this category of life. Let’s say for example you want to eat cleaner, instead of focusing on supplements, and the perfect foods to optimize testosterone, and all that stuff, start by simply replacing the bad foods you eat with healthy foods. Start adding eggs and meat, olive oil, and fruits to your diet. Then, focus on whether or not you want a carnivore diet, how much carbs you need, how to optimize your T levels, etc.
Work also works in a similar fashion as I’ve said before. Instead of spreading your attention on the company’s Facebook account, answering customers all day long, or trying to optimize 1% more the SEO of the website, at first, start by simply doing the biggest, hardest task of your work.
Every morning, when I don’t have any other occupation, I simply start with one hour and thirty of deep work. It’s the hardest task of my day, or at least the hardest task of my work. That’s called the “Eat the frog task”, doing the hardest task of your work or of your day first thing in the morning. Simple, but efficient.
Technique is still important
Even tho it’s great to try to aim for simplicity in your life and in the domains that need it the most, remember that technique still plays a major role in your success in any walk of life.
Simplicity will only get you so far, even tho it can already get you quite far. Think of it as a boat with limited gas, it can only get you so far. That’s why you also need to optimize it in order to go even farther in whatever skill you’re trying to advance in life.
In other words, at first, focus on simplicity, once the simple skills are acquired, once the diet is already quite good, once the exercising is regular, and once the work is done, then focus on the less important.
Once you eat 100% natural foods, focus on supplementation. Once you are disciplined and consistent enough to go to the gym three times a week, make a better program with the perfect exercises for your bicep growth for example. Once you have completed your deep work task, your eat the frog task, then focus on the publicities or the social media account or answering emails.
It’s all a question of prioritization and sacrifices. Prioritize 20% of activities that give you 80% of the results, and sacrifice for later 80% of the activities that give you 20% of results. In this manner, or in this way, you can make tremendous progress, sometimes even beating your competition who doesn’t know how to prioritize properly their work.
Remember tho, that you can beat around the bush as much as you want, but if you don’t do the main, important activity, you’re not going to go anywhere. You can be optimizing all you want and making the perfect workout programs, if you don’t simply work out (which is already hard enough), then you’re not going to make progress in any significant way.
Technique is important, but the main content is even more important. First focus on the basics, then on optimizing. First focus on simplicity, then complications. It’s as easy as it is, but trust me, it’s already quite hard.
So always prioritize simplicity, the simple, basic tasks you can do to give you 80% of the results, and then focus on optimizing these tasks or working on the other tasks in order to maximize your results or at least better them. In this way, you can make incredible progress.
Conclusion
I hope this article was of help to you. The power of simplicity is incredible, but remember that technique is still very important once the plane takes off.
