The Masculinity Crisis
After much research in the medical world and thousands of real-life proofs, men today are weak. Not only are they weak mentally and physically, but their masculine hormone, the hormone that makes them more masculine and manly, namely testosterone, has been decreasing enormously since the past generations. In fact, your grandfather, at your current age, probably had WAY MORE testosterone than you do.
This might seem depressing. And I understand. Some things are out of our control but we can try to control as much as realistically possible so we can lead better lives, and increase our testosterone. However, before diving into how to increase your testosterone in an evergrowing low-testosterone society, let me show you something.
A study published in the National Institutes of Health took the testosterone levels of 102,334 male members in a large health organization, from 2006 to 2019.
This study found that "At age 21, at testosterone peak level, levels declined from 19.68 in 2006–9 to 17.76 in 2016–19". This decline is defined as "a prominent trend of age-independent decline in the testosterone levels for most age groups". Note the utilization of the word "trend" here. It is a trend, which means it repeats itself.
The decline is not dependent on age (since it has been proven that indeed, testosterone declines around 1% a year as we get older, which is totally natural) but it is dependent on conditions or the things that we do or that affect us.
In other words, the measure was not done on the same person 20 years later which would of course show decreased testosterone levels, it was made by measuring the testosterone of someone at 21 years old in 2006 and then measuring the testosterone of someone at 21 years old in 2019 and comparing the numbers.
So, the testosterone crisis is real. And it's not something to deal with lightly. In fact, testosterone is one of the main responsible hormones for fertility in men, and therefore, lower testosterone means lower fertility rates, which we often see in our modern, developing countries. If you take a look at the US for example, or even in Europe, more and more men are becoming infertile. If you look at the animal kingdom, polar bears, tuna fish, sea creatures and more are becoming infertile too. If you do not trust me just take a look online on this subject.
The problem is that this subject is still not one of the main recognized issues of our time as it should be. Really, this issue could become major, leading to a global population fertility decline, as it is happening now with a global population generational testosterone decline.
This is not a joke. It's not to be dealt with lightly. Men around the world are becoming infertile and are struggling to get a child. This problem, which magnifies year after year due to the factors explained later, will become increasingly popular and increasingly dangerous for the human race.
I am warning you: this could be the end of humanity. I think we will change before it is the total end of it of course but if we continue on this path we can get ourselves in a very, very bad situation that we don't want to be in.
The Factors Of The T Levels Decline In Men
There are so many factors to deal with. Here are the main factors you will find.
First off, men's testosterone has been decreasing due to the increasing rate of obesity. When you're obese, the fat you possess produces estrogen and you also tend to have higher rates of cortisol, the stress hormone. Estrogen being the female hormone, obese people tend to grow man boobs and they literally are emasculated. High levels of estrogen and cortisol affect testosterone, declining it rapidly, making it extremely low. This is why women naturally don't have big muscles or a lot of facial hair.
Secondly, the environment is destroying our hormones. Water bottles leach microplastics into the water we drink, hurting our testosterone heavily. Heating food in plastic has the same effect. Anything stored in plastic in fact should be avoided at a maximum. Be careful of canned foods too. Using any cosmetic products with a lot of chemicals could hurt our health. Toothpaste, body wash, hair gel, and hairspray, do affect our hormones through the means of parabens, phthalates, and more. Try to opt for natural options. Be careful of things that begin with "Phyl...". This is not speaking of the traces of birth-control pills and microplastics as well as parabens and harmful chemicals in the tap water we drink (municipalities don't filter those correctly), this is why you should get a water filter.
Thirdly, our diet. Sugar, vegetable oils (to the exception of olive oil and coconut oil), artificial sugars (Stevia, Acesulfame K), and processed foods (foods with more than one ingredient or foods with at least one chemical ingredient that sounds weird, as a general rule of thumb), as well as soy and alcohol, does affect our testosterone levels heavily (in a negative way of course).
Fourthly, be careful about nicotine and smoking anything. Generally, if you're smoking something, then it rhymes with low testosterone. Yes, many studies have found that nicotine "increases significantly testosterone". But this bullshit is just what it is, bullshit. Firstly, it reduces sperm count, secondly, it's not worth the risk of dying 10-15 years younger, thirdly, the medical studies in favor of nicotine or "estrogenic" or "endocrine disruptors" as a whole (estrogenic and endocrine disruptors are for example microplastics, parabens, phthalates, harmful chemicals, atrazine, etc) are often controlled by companies that sell nicotine, or atrazine, or make-up, etc. In other words, the industry is corrupted, so do not trust everything, but understand that oftentimes, if someone is in favor of something harmful to health, there is a problem. Sometimes, companies that sell products that might be harmful pay scientists to conduct studies. These studies might acknowledge that the product could be risky, but the scientists find other reasons for health issues. This way, the blame shifts away from the company's product, and attention is diverted elsewhere. It's like trying to distract people from focusing on the harmful effects of the product by pointing fingers at other possible causes. In this way, they can continue producing, continue making a profit, and they can destroy lives.
I'll not go any deeper into the subject. I frankly don't think this article is here to go into detail. If you want to know in detail, I suggest checking out the weight-loss course I made so you can then see the bonus I made on testosterone optimization.
I also recommend reading the book Estrogeneration: How Estrogenics Are Making You Fat, Sick, and Infertile by Anthony G. Jay because it taught me so much about estrogens in our environment that this book ought to be cherished as the savior of the 21st century, or the announcer of one of the biggest problems of our century (I'm still in the process of reading it as I write this. I do not profit or gain any money from sharing this book, it's just for your wisdom).
What can you do about it?
Well, what you could do is two things: work individually and in group. Individually means you work on yourself so your testosterone levels are higher. You erase microplastics at a realistic maximum, you take care of your health, you exercise (because yes, exercise is vital for testosterone, and the lack of manual labor might be one of the reasons for lower testosterone in our modern age), and you sleep well and early, and you take Vitamin D3 + K2 supplements.
In group means that you try to help people if they are open to help to increase their testosterone. This is what I'm doing right now. If we all share the problem we can all try to work on our testosterone so we become stronger individuals. Trust me, a lot of people in the population are losers, and therefore, trust me when I say that you will not be able to convert everyone. But you can try converting a friend or two to optimize his testosterone. Why not try? It's free.
But what you can really do is simply to try and work on yourself. This means as I said exercising, sleeping well, eating natural foods, having a good diet, taking Vitamin D3 + K2 supplements, losing weight if you're fat and gaining weight if you're skinny (being at a healthy weight), cutting on estrogenics and wearing cotton clothes mainly (avoid polyester especially polyester underwear as it does make you totally infertile and causes azoospermia).
Symptoms Of Low Testosterone
Here are a few symptoms of low testosterone to know if you have this problem or not. First off, if you're overweight or underweight, you might have low testosterone. This is a problem that causes and that is caused by low testosterone. Secondly, if you're often tired, you probably have low testosterone, especially if you don't sleep much. If you have manboobs: another sign. If you're depressive: another sign! If you're not muscular or you're just generally not very physically strong: another sign! If your bones are weak: another sign! If you have diabetes: another sign!
Really, there can be a lot of signs of low testosterone. I think that having higher testosterone can help you become a stronger man, a person of character, even tho that's not necessarily true if you do not back it up with the mental and physical work necessary for this. At least, personally, since my testosterone is better, my life has become increasingly better. And this is true for Hamza Ahmed and Tim Ferris too, two massive entrepreneurs and self-help enthusiasts.
As always consult with a medical profesional to get a blood test if you think you have low testosterone. These symptoms could be caused by hundreds of other hypothetical issues.
Conclusion
I think that the testosterone crisis will become increasingly popular and recognized by the government and medical institutions as the problem becomes bigger. Of course, the only thing we can do for now is try to warn others whilst improving ourselves, as with most things on self-improvement.
Remember to always exercise, eat clean, and sleep well. If you have these three basics, you would've already done half of the work for higher T-levels.
As always, thank you for reading. If you want to learn more about testosterone optimization, consult with a medical professional, read Tim Ferris's opinion on this, read the book titled Estrogeneration, check Hamza Ahmed's full guide on optimizing your testosterone, listen to the advice of Ph.D Andrew Huberman on the subject and read the weight-loss course as well as the testosterone optimization bonus I made as a free bonus in the course.
